The Chekhov Collective was formed in 2013 by a group of professional actors wanting to explore classic plays, putting the actor and the ensemble at the center of the creative process. Inspired by the acting techniques of Michael Chekhov and under the artistic leadership of Rena Polley, the collective has presented The Seagull, The Cherry Orchard,I Take Your Hand in Mine ... the letters of Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Recently they started Page-to-Stage Readings of Literary Works with Chekhov's The Lady with a Little Dog and The Grasshopper at The Tarragon WorkSpace. This past winter they took their production of I Take Your Hand in Mine ... to Washington DC to critical acclaim. For information on the Chekhov Collective, click here.
